In the Solution Explorer, select the top most folder under the distributed system solution. Right click to bring up the context menu and select Add>New Distributed System Diagram. |

Under categories section on the left hand side of the Add New Item dialog box, be sure the Distributed Systems Diagram is selected. Under Visual Studio installed templates, select the System Diagram and give the system a name. Click the Add button at the bottom of the dialog box. |

From the system view list, drag the systems onto the new system diagram. |

Select the source endpoint to connect and press alt and the left mouse button and drag the connection to the target endpoint. A line should be drawn connecting the endpoints. |

On the tab in the top left corner of the system diagram, right click to bring up the context menu. Save the diagram. |
